Holidays can be good for your health!

Holidays can be good for your health! With people leading busier lives than ever, it has never been more important to take time out and enjoy a relaxing holiday.

Whether it's a long weekend or a fortnight in the sun, a break from the stresses and strains of your everyday routine will help to recharge your batteries and leave you feeling revived and refreshed.

Holidays also give you the opportunity to spend quality time bonding with your loved ones - something we rarely get to do when preoccupied with work and school.

Lucy Ace, managing director of Takethefamily.com, said holidays allow families to re-establish themselves as a unit and enjoy new activities together.

“It is important to take a break from domestic life and spend quality time together away from every day stresses and pressures even if just for a weekend or a couple of days, ” she commented.

According to Ms Ace, a holiday is not really a holiday unless you have left your laptop at home and switched your phone off.

She noted that taking a break can breathe air into lives that are dominated by routine and work.

“Holidays and breaks give families invaluable shared experiences that can be recounted time and time again and become life-long memories for all involved.”

There is evidence to suggest that people are increasingly opting for shorter and more flexible breaks, rather than heading off on traditional two-week holidays in the sun.

If you're concerned about the cost of jetting abroad, then why not consider loading up the car and taking a domestic holiday in the UK?

According to TV presenter Ben Fogle, camping holidays can be a great option for families looking to take a cheap and cheerful break this summer.

Campsites have come a long way in recent years, with many now boasting swimming and laundry facilities, as well as wireless internet access and family entertainment.

Ben Fogle also pointed out that equipment is easily accessible and offers great value for money.

Another way of keeping costs low is to borrow everything you need from family and friends or team up with someone else to buy a new tent and share it afterwards.
