Top tips to combat stress

Top tips to combat stress If you think you may be suffering from stress, it is important to recognise it and take control of the situation as soon as possible. Waiting for things to get better on their own could lead you down a very slippery slope and, before you know it, your problems have multiplied.

Ann McCracken, chair of the International Stress Management Association UK, says people suffering from stress need to make the decision to do something about their situation and work from there. "What they need is some very positive approaches to taking control of their life. Not just talking about it, as all that tends to do is reinforce their problems," she explains.

If work pressures are getting on top of you then it's vital to speak to your manager and find a solution. If you cannot handle your deadlines, ask which you should prioritise and work from there, Ms McCracken adds. Some of the most effective ways to cut your stress levels include taking up a sport, socialising and telling others how you feel.ADNFCR-2418-ID-19819157-ADNFCR
