Canderel Sweetness from a leaf is made from the finest extract of the Stevia plant to produce a sweet taste with practically zero calories.
The Stevia plant has been used to naturally sweeten foods for hundreds of years. Originating in South America, Stevia was prized for its’ natural sweet flavour long before scientists discovered that it also had zero calories- good news for people trying to reduce their sugar intake. At the same time, it is 200 times sweeter than sugar.
Stevia is grown just like any other plant, using water, sunshine and soil nutrients. What makes the Stevia plant so exceptional is the naturally occurring sweet compounds it produces when growing. When fully grown and harvested, the plants are cut, dried and then soaked in water to filter the said natural compounds. This sweet mixture is then strained to remove plant matter and then purified to leave only the best tasting bits behind. After a quick evaporation of water what is left behind is stevia in crystal form. Finally, they are then evaporated again from a mixture of food grade alcohol and water to produce the highest quality and sweetest extract possible.
